EXPOSED AGGREGATE RETARDER

Using water-based chemistry engineered for architecturally refined sand finishes and exposed concrete surfaces. Exposed aggregate retarder allows for a more controlled and even reveal of the desired aggregate texture. 

 

Applied to the surface of fresh concrete, exposed aggregate retarder chemically delays the set of the surface mortar while allowing the underlying concrete to harden normally. This allows time for washing the surface, producing exposed aggregate flatwork, with subtle and varying reveals of texture and color.

SELECT-ETCH – CONTROLLED EXPOSED  AGGREGATE RETARDER

  • Twelve predetermined depths of exposure are available, color-coded for identification, to provide consistent, repeatable cement paste removal and aggregate reveal, ranging from 0.1mm to 6.5mm (1/4”)

  • Creates a polymeric film that acts as a water retention barrier and temporary curing agent, protecting fresh concrete from light rain and reducing moisture loss

  • 1 gl bottles and 5 gl pails, coverage varies on application and sprayer but average coverage of 250 sq. ft per gl.

  • Easy color-coded, non-staining formula, solvent-free; VOC compliant

AGGRESOL S – CONTROLLED EXPOSED AGGREGATE RETARDER

  • A water-soluble liquid specially formulated to set the surface mortar of fresh concrete to expose aggregates in freshly placed concrete surfaces

  • Green in color to allow for easy identification of applied areas and to ensure appropriate uniform coverage

  • Should be used to achieve architectural color, texture, and appearance without mechanical means such as sandblasting

  • Coverage: Approximately 200 square feet per gallon

  • Size: 5 Gallon Pail

AGGRESOL F – VERTICAL CONTROLLED EXPOSED AGGREGATE RETARDER

  • A green water soluble liquid that when applied on the surface of freshly poured concrete retards the surface mortar to expose the aggregate

  • Thick paste to brush on forms for vertical applications

  • This leaves an architectural finish by exposing the color and texture of the natural aggregate

  • Coverage: 150 square feet per gallon
